Don’t Forget the Champagne One thing that most of these events have in common is the midnight champagne toast. While the Ancient Romans drank on New Year’s Eve, the tradition of sipping Champagne came from the French. Drinkers considered champagne to be fancier and more delicate than traditional wines, and it grew to become a mark of sophistication. Since champagne is associated with prosperity, it became the drink of choice for New Year’s Eve parties around the world. Be sure to pick up your bottle of bubbly at nearby Bin 604. Happy New Year From the Liberty Harbor East family to yours, we wish you a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
