Breast Cancer Awareness in Baltimore
October 11, 20221 in 8 women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime. The month of October is dedicated to raising awareness surrounding this important topic to ensure that women are educated about their risk and have access to resources that can help them receive a diagnosis. Breast Cancer Awareness Month also helps raise funds that ensure access to life-saving mammograms and health education.
Making a Difference at Liberty Harbor East
You can take part in raising awareness right here in your own home! Liberty Harbor East will be participating in the “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink” campaign, with pink treats being offered each Wednesday of the month. Liberty is also partnering with The Brem Foundation, whose goal is to help women detect breast cancer early to increase rates of survival. Throughout October, Liberty will be collecting #PenniesforPink, which will be donated to The Brem Foundation. Other events will also be held throughout the month at Liberty, so stay tuned for details.

Bullseye to Battle Breast Cancer
Hosted by Urban Axes, you can participate in ax throwing while raising money! 50% of each ticket sold will go to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, raising funds for research and access to life-saving screenings. Tickets include food, drinks, and axe throwing. Gather a group of friends together to have a night of fun, while supporting a good cause.
Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk
Brown Girls International is holding its annual walk for breast cancer. You can donate any amount to the group to help raise money, and you can also join the team. Every amount that you donate makes a difference and helps raise awareness. If you choose to walk, the event takes place on October 22nd, at the Camden Yards.
Luke McFadden’s Breastfest Crab Feast
Jimmy’s Famous Seafood is teaming up with Luke McFadden for a crab extravaganza that benefits Horizon Day Camp. Your cost of admission lets you get access to an unlimited supply of locally-sourced and tasty crabs, an extensive buffet, bottomless draft beer, entertainment, and more! Your participation in this fun crabbing event helps support Horizon Day Camp, which provides summer camp and year-round programming to children with cancer and their siblings for free. Enjoy a fun and tasty day while helping out a great organization.
14th Annual Pampering Pink Survivors Breast Cancer Fundraiser
Help support the Janet Hall Foundation, an organization that provides breast cancer patients and survivors with a variety of spa treatments, including therapeutic massages, and hand and nail services. This 14th Annual fundraiser will include the lite fare, spa services, and shopping. The event requires a donation that will go directly to the Janet Hall Foundation to help breast cancer survivors and patients relieve mental and physical stress, while also raising awareness for the cause.
Second Annual Halloween Party to Support Breast Cancer Awareness
Join this fun, spooky Halloween party with live music and hauntingly good cocktails. The venue will provide a themed cocktail, where a portion of each sale will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Get in the Halloween spirit with Bondhouse Fells Point and raise money to help those diagnosed with breast cancer.
There are a ton of events that you can participate in this October to make a change. Whether you want to eat or shop or party, Baltimore has all of the options you could choose from. Breast Cancer Awareness is extremely important in helping those experiencing breast cancers receive access to the help and information they need to survive.
