Summer Fun in Baltimore
July 26, 2021
The sunny skies, breezy nights, and endless possibilities of summer are finally here. We encourage Liberty Harbor East residents to take full advantage of the season by enjoying some of Baltimore’s fun summer activities. We’ve gathered a list of some of our favorite local experiences below.
Get Active
Get moving and stay active this summer with outdoor activities, games, and sports. South Point is your one-stop destination for outdoor activities. From cornhole, to volleyball, to classic lawn games, you can play the day away and enjoy the sunset views. Check out the full schedule of events here––there’s something for everyone.
Nothing says summer like a round of golf. There are 5 golf courses in the city to choose from for a day on the greens. You can book a tee time for any of the courses here. Whether you tee up at Carroll Park, Clifton Park, Forest Park, Mount Pleasant, or Pine Ridge, it’s sure to be a lovely day.
Or, soak up the sun with an invigorating game of beach volleyball at Rash Field. You can drop in and play Saturday and Sunday anytime between 11am-4pm, or sign up for one of their leagues or tournaments to play with friends!
Prefer to enjoy games with a beverage in hand? Sandlot in nearby Harbor Point is a fantastic outdoor bar with plenty of games like volleyball and bocce. Best of all, you can re-energize with a refreshing drink afterward!
Take It Easy
There are lots of low-key local events if you’re looking for a more relaxing evening! If you’re looking for the best of both worlds between fitness and relaxation, a yoga class might be the perfect activity! The free summer fitness classes with Waterfront Wellness include Yoga with Bikram Yoga Works every Sunday morning at 9am. You’ll get to learn 26 yoga poses during this power vinyasa flow with an added aerobic element.
After a busy workday or a fun night out, it’s also great to chill out and unwind. One great option is to grab some popcorn and enjoy an outdoor movie at the Grand Rotunda. They’re showing classics from Jurassic Park to Harry Potter every other Friday night this summer. View the movie schedule here.
Drinks & Dining
Looking for a bite or a brew? Look no further than one of these great options:
Stop by the waterfront for Food Truck Wednesdays all summer long on Wednesdays between 11am and 2pm at the amphitheater. Each week, you can check out a new food truck with delicious offerings. It’s a great way to spice up your mid-week lunch break!
Get your brunch fix and enjoy a fun bike right with a Bike and Brunch Tour. Ride through the city and take in the scenery like landmarks, public art, and more. The brunch menu has a wide variety of brunch favorites, as well as vegan and vegetarian options.
Summer Sails
A fun evening out on the harbor is unbeatable, and thankfully there are lots of cool ways to experience the seas this summer. You can take in the salty air and the skyline sights on a water taxi with Baltimore Water Taxi. With twilight cruises, BYO adventures, and even bring your dog events, you can set sail however you prefer.
Or, explore the harbor via paddle with Inner Harbor Kayak Tours. You’ll get to see incredible views of the historic Torsk submarine, the USS Constellation, or Mr. Trash Wheel. Please note that this tour is best for experienced kayakers.
After work, gather your crew for a ride on the Sip Ahoy Cycle Boat. Each boat can accommodate up to 20 guests, and you’ll pedal along the harbor while enjoying a drink. These fun paddle boats are a floating party, just don’t forget to BYOB!
For a super unique sailing experience, check out Urban Pirates. These interactive, pirate-themed boating experiences immerse you into the pirate’s life for the day. Perfect for the young or the young at heart!
