Giving Tuesday in Baltimore
November 18, 2023Tuesday, November 28, is an international day of charity called “Giving Tuesday.” It’s a day to unleash your generosity and show your community that you really care. Baltimore is home to many amazing charities for you to support this Giving Tuesday, including:
Living Classrooms Foundation
The Living Classrooms Foundation is an organization committed to providing experiential learning opportunities for people of all ages. They have helped countless students foster a sense of belonging in learning environments and make education a fun and engaging experience. Bolstered by spirited partnerships with organizations such as GBMC Health Partners, the Living Classrooms Foundation makes students feel safe, loved, and welcome!
St. Vincent de Paul
St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore believes in a world where poverty is no longer a barrier to success and happiness, and needs your help to realize this vision. Their core values are dignity, inclusion, equity, equality, collaboration, service, excellence, and stewardship—values they inject into the community. Give them your support to help everyone, no matter their situation, achieve their full potential.
Children’s Scholarship Fund
The Children’s Scholarship Fund fosters education in low-income communities by providing partial-tuition scholarships to the children who need it most, one of the most immediate and effective ways to educate children, empower families, and break the cycle of poverty. They make a direct impact by putting kids in private schools with graduation rates of more than 97%. Make a major impact on a child’s life by donating to this amazing organization.
Back On My Feet
More than 580,000 people are experiencing homelessness in the US right now, and 30% of those people are chronically homeless. Back On My Feet needs your help to support people in overcoming homelessness and addiction, giving them better lives and helping them achieve long term transformation. It is their honor to give back to the Baltimore community, and they hope you share in that honor.
Baltimore Hunger Project
The Baltimore Hunger Project knows that children who receive daily school meals also need to eat on Saturday and Sunday. Using your generous donations, they fill backpacks on Fridays with food to last through the weekend. Just $25 creates food security for one month, and $250 sponsors a student for a whole year!
Paul’s Place
Paul’s Place is a one-stop destination that provides support and resources for hundreds of Baltimore citizens every day. Their numerous programs, including Hot Lunch, Nurses’ Clinic, and Market Place, provide essential support so that everybody can have their basic needs met. Paul’s Place fosters hope, and it’s donors like you who provide that hope.
The Beauty of Giving
Giving back to your community is a kind and beautiful gesture, a gesture that makes life more vibrant for you and the people you are supporting. Just a few dollars can go a long way, so please consider donating to one of these charities and making someone’s life better this holiday season.
